BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj apologizes for remarks on Nathuram Godse

BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj today apologized in the Lok Sabha for his remarks on Nathuram Godse. His apology comes in the wake of demand from opposition parties, who wanted suspension of the question hour. Several members also trooped into the well condemning the incident of honouring Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin. As the noisy scenes continued Speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the House till 1125 hrs.
As soon the house reassembled, the opposition again disrupted the proceedings and asked the BJP, MP, Sakshi Maharaj to apologies for his remarks that Nathuram Godse was a patriot like Mahatma Gandhi.

In the meantime, Parliamentary Affairs Minister, M. Venkaiah Naidu said that government totally condemns the statement of Sakshi Maharaj. Not relenting with that, the opposition members reiterated its demand for apology.
