In Rajasthan, CBI has arrested former minister and BJP Whip Rajendra Rathor in Dara Singh fake encounter case. Rathor was presented in ACJM Court of Jaipur and the Court sent him to judicial custody till next Monday. The CBI also filed charge sheet against him in the case for murder and criminal conspiracy.
Dara Singh was killed in an encounter in 2006 and the Supreme Court handed over this case to CBI.
On Thursday before reaching CBI Office at Jaipur a meeting of state BJP officials was organized.
Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and State BJP President Dr Arun Chaturvedi were also present in Thursday meeting.
BJP Leaders said that party is with Rathor. Rathor also addressed the meeting and said that he has faith in judiciary .
BJP has announced to stage dharna at all district headquarters to protest Rather's arrest.
Also Rathor supporters demonstrations reported from Churu and Jaipur on Thursday.
The police made tight security at BJP Office and CBI office. The CBI arrested 11 out of 16 accused of Dara Singh fake encounter case so far.
AIR Correspondent reports, Rajendra Rathore is the 12th accused of Dara Singh fake encounter case ,arrested by CBI.
Just after arrest Rathore was presented in the ACJM Court and the Court sent him to Jaipur central jail under judicial custody till 9th April.
Rathore supporters were tried to block roads in Jaipur,Sikar and his constituency Taranagar of Churu distt.
State BJP is also supporting Rajendra Rathore and party leaders including former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje expressed support to him in a meeting organized at State BJP headquarter.
Dara Singh was killed in a fake encounter by police near jaipur in 2006 and the Supreme Court handed over the inquiry of this case to CBI after hearing an application filed by Sushila Devi, wife of Dara Singh.
