In Rajasthan, CBI has arrested former minister and BJP Whip Rajendra Rathor in the fake encounter case of local liquor smuggler Dara Singh.Rathor was presented in ACJM Court of Jaipur and the Court sent him to judicial custody till next Monday.Dara Singh was killed in an alleged fake encounter in 2006 and the Supreme Court handed over this case to CBI. The CBI arrested 11 out of 16 accused of Dara Singh fake encounter case so far.The arrest of 56 year old Rathore, five time MLA, comes nearly 6 weeks after the CBI arrested absconding Additional Director General of Rajasthan Police A.K. Jain, who was also named in the CBI charge sheet.The CBI had alleged that Dara Singh was taken in to custody by the SOG officials from Jaipur Airport and was taken to a lonely place near Amber.The agency alleged that Dara Singh was kept as hostage till October 23 in 2006, when he was killed in a planned manner.Earlier, Rathore addressed a meeting of State BJP officials saying he has faith in judiciary. Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and State BJP President Dr Arun Chaturvedi were also present in the meeting.BJP Leaders said that party is with Rathor. Police made tight security at BJP Office and CBI office.
