BJP today held meetings with NDA allies to give final shape to their seat-sharing arrangements for upcoming Bihar assembly elections. Union Minister Ananth Kumar, who is BJP in-charge for Bihar polls, held separate meetings with HAM (Secular) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi and LJP Chief Ram Vilas Paswan in New Delhi on the issue.

Before the meeting, Mr. Paswan had said seat distribution will be announced in two to three days. The meeting came in the backdrop of war of words between Mr Manjhi and LJP Chief. Mr. Manjhi had questioned Mr. Paswan's status as a leader of Dalits charging him with practising dynasty politics.

However, after meeting Ananth Kumar, Mr. Manjhi tried to down play his critical remarks against Mr. Paswan saying it was like differences among brothers. AIR correspondent quoting sources reports that BJP wanted to contest anywhere between 160-170 seats out of 243 constituencies, leaving the rest to its three allies.
