BJP Legislative Party meets in Gujarat to elect new leader

In Gujarat, the crucial meeting of BJP legislative party to elect their new leader will be held in Gandhinagar this evening. <br/><br/>AIR Ahmedabad correspondent reports that BJP President Amit Shah is meeting senior BJP leaders of the state at his residence to get the sense of their opinion on the leadership issue.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that BJP's legislative party meeting will be held at 4 pm at party's state headquarter Kamalam in Gandhinagar. <br/><br/>The process of electing the new leader of State BJP legislative party will begin in the presence of two Central observers- Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Party General Secretary Saroj Pandey. <br/><br/>BJP's National President Amit Shah- and Gujarat BJP President Vijay Rupani, who are also the Member of state legislative Assembly will remain present in the meeting. <br/><br/>Senior Party leaders along with out-going Chief Minster Anandiben Patel will also attend the meeting of BJP's state legislative party. <br/><br/>According to sources, State Health Minister Nitin Patel is likely to emerge as the consensus choice. <br/><br/>However, the official announcement will be made only after the meeting of the legislative party.<br/><br/>Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel has resigned on Wednesday from the post citing her old age.

In Gujarat, the crucial meeting of BJP legislative party to elect their new leader will be held in Gandhinagar today evening. <br/><br/>The meeting will be attended by BJP President Amit Shah along with Central Observers of the party Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Party General Secretary Saroj Pandey. <br/><br/>This was announced by State BJP President Vijay Rupani last evening after the meeting of senior party leaders at the residence of BJP President Amit Shah. Mr. Rupani said that all BJP MLAs including officer bearers of the State BJP will also be present in the meeting.<br/><br/>AIR Ahmedabad correspondent reports that BJP President Amit Shah is meeting senior BJP leaders of the state at his residence to get the sense of their opinion on the leadership issue.<br/><br/>Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel has resigned from the post citing her old age. She had tendered her resignation to the Governor on Wednesday. Governor Mr. O.P. Kohli has asked her to continue as the care taker Chief Minster till the alternate arrangement.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that BJP's central observers Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Party General Secretary Saroj Pandey are reaching Gandhinagar this afternoon. They will attend the BJP's legislative party meeting this evening to elect the new leader. Earlier, Party's National President Amit Shah has held series of meetings with senior party leaders on this issue at his Ahmedabad residence last evening. According to sources, State Health Minister Nitin Patel is likely to emerge as the successor of the out-going Chief Minister Anandiben Patel. However, official announcement will be made only after the meeting of the legislative party.
