BJP leaders reaching Allahabad to participate in party's national executive meet

Leaders of the Bharatiya Janta Party have started reaching Allahabad to participate in party national executive meeting from Sunday at KP college ground.<br/><br/>Over three hundred senior party leaders, Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states and several Union Ministers are likely to participate in the two day meet.<br/><br/>Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah will also be reaching the venue.<br/><br/>The BJP national secretary Srikant Sharma said, the party will highlight two years achievements of NDA government and also review its policies.<br/><br/>It is expected that forthcoming state assembly elections, especially UP, will be a major issue in meeting.<br/><br/>Party national general secretary Bhupendra Yadav and state president Keshav Prasad Maurya addressed a press conference on Saturday. Mr Yadav said party will adopt three resolutions during the two day meet.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Himanta Biswa Sarma and Vijay Bahuguna were inducted into BJP's National Executive on Saturday.<br/><br/>Mr Sarma had played a key role in BJP's win in Assam's Assembly polls and Mr Bahuguna, the former Uttarakhand Chief Minister had recently joined the BJP.<br/><br/>The development came a day before the BJP National Executive meets for a two-day session in Allahabad.<br/><br/>BJP brought several new faces to its key body including former Odisha Chief Minister and tribal leader Giridhar Gamang and former union minister K P Singh Deo.<br/><br/>The party also inducted into the National Executive several of its former state Unit Chiefs, including Laxmikant Bajpai of Uttar Pradesh, Prahlad Joshi of Karnataka, V Muraleedharan of Kerala, Kamal Sharma of Punjab and Chaoba Singh of Manipur.<br/><br/>Party sources said these leaders were inducted to the strengthen party to make the body more representative.<br/><br/>All former party chief ministers are permanent invitees to the National Executive but Mr Bahuguna, a former Congressman, and Mr Gamang were inducted to give them an equal status.
