BJP leader Vijayvargiya retracts his tweets on Shahrukh Khan

BJP'S national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya has taken back his controversial tweets regarding Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan. In his two tweets today, he said that his aim was not to hurt sentiments of any one. He said if India were an intolerant country, Shahrukh Khan would have not become most popular actor after Amitabh Bachchan. Mr. Vijayvargiya said that some people took his tweets in different sense.

Earlier BJP had distanced itself from Kailash Vijayvargiya's comment against Shahrukh Khan. Party leader and Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said Mr. Vijayvargiya is not a party spokesperson and he condemns his comments outright.

In his tweets yesterday, Vijayvargiya had alleged that Shahrukh Khan lives in India, but his soul is in Pakistan. His comment came a day after Shahrukh Khan expressed his support for the artistes who returned their awards and described them as brave.
