BJP leader Modi to file nomination papers from Vadodara, Gujarat today

BJP leader and Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi will file his nomination from Vadodara Lok Sabha seat today. He will file his nomination papers before noon after holding a road show. Our Ahmedabad correspondent reports that tight security arrangements have been made on a four kilometer route of Modi’s road show.

Meanwhile, the process of filing of nomination papers for 26 Lok Sabha seats of Gujarat is ending today. A total of 268 candidates have already filed their nomination papers .

Large number of candidates is likely to file their nomination papers for 26 Loksabha seats as well as 7 state assembly seats where by-elections are scheduled. Polling will be held on 30th April.

The prominent candidates, who filed their nominations include BJP veteran L K Advani from Gandhinagar, bollywood actor and BJP leader Paresh Rawal from Ahmedabad east and Congress candidate and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Shankarsinh Vaghela from Sabarkantha and Congress national general secretary Madhusudan Mistry from Vadodara seat.

Three Union Ministers Shri Dinsha Patel, Bharatsinh Solanki and Dr.Tushar Chaudhari have also filed their nomination papers as congress candidates.
