BJP leader Mahesh Jethmalani quits party's National Executive Council

BJP leader Mahesh Jethmalani has resigned from the party's National Executive Council over corruption charges against the party President Nitin Gadkari.

Talking to the media in New Delhi Monday afternoon, Jethmalani said, he had written a letter to Gadkari, saying that it is not morally appropriate for him to serve in the BJP as long as he remains its President.

AIR Correspondent reports that the development comes amid reports of alleged financial impropriety and irregularities in business dealings of Gadkari's Purti Group.
