BJP today lashed out at Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar for his alleged comments that Prime Minister Narendra Modi needs to be removed if talks are to resume between India and Pakistan. The party termed his remarks as an insult to the country. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, BJP spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi also attacked former Union Minister Salman Khurshid for his remarks against Mr. Modi. She alleged that these Congress leaders are discredited by the people. <br/><br/>Talking to a Pakistan TV channel, Mr. Aiyar had allegedly made the comments while at an event in Islamabad. Mr. Khurshid is reported to have said India has not responded to Pakistan's overtures for peace in South Asia the way it should have.
