BJP central leadership is keeping a constant watch over the party led Maharashtra government's tussle with its ally Shiv Sena after Sudheendra Kulkarni paint smearing incident. Talking to AIR, party state In-Charge Saroj Pandey, however, tried to downplay the growing fissures with Sena saying there is no threat to the alliance. She said in coalition sometimes the two parties may have different points of view.

Ms. Pandey dismissed the media report that BJP ministers and the prominent leaders of Maharashta will discuss the probability of snapping ties with the Shiv Sena in tomorrow's scheduled meeting.

She said there is no such agenda in the meeting and it has been called to discuss the achievements during the one-year tenure of the BJP-led government in the state and the nature of celebrations. The Shiv Sena had asked BJP to opt out of coalition if it has any problems with the alliance.

The BJP and Shiv Sena have countered each other over former Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri's book release function and Pakistan singer Ghulam Ali's concert in Mumbai. Some Sena workers had smeared paint on the face of Sudheendra Kulkarni, who was the organizer of the book release event, which was widely slammed by the BJP.
