The Bharatiya Janata Party legislators from Jammu and Kashmir today met the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in New Delhi to convey their concern about the prevailing situation in the state. BJP Leader S.S. Ahluwalia said that 10 of the 11 party legislators in the state were present at the meeting submitted a memorandum to the prime minister. Senior party leaders L.K. Advani, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley were also present in the meeting.Party sources told air that the legislators told the prime minister that the Omar Abdullah government had failed to control the situation created by elements inimical to peace in the state. The meeting of the BJP legislators comes close on the heels of meeting of the Congress leaders from the state with the prime minister to convey their concern about the situation.Meanwhile, the CPIM has demanded that a Parliamentary delegation be sent to the Kashmir valley to take stock of the situation there. Expressing concern over the situation in the valley which has been witnessing violence for almost two months now, the party leader, Mr. Sitaram Yechuri said that the delegation can make a first hand assessment on the situation and know the feelings of the people.
