The BJP is observing today a nationwide one-day jail bharo agitation to protest against hike in prices of essential commodities and petroleum products .

The main opposition party has organized public meetings, protests and street marches in different parts of the country to create awareness among people on these issues. Several top BJP leaders and party workers are expected to court arrest during the agitation.

Among the top leaders who are participating in the agitation today include party president Nitin Gadkari at Nagpur, M Venkaiah Naidu in Mumbai, Sushma Swaraj in Bhopal, Arun Jaitely, Rajnath Singh and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi in Delhi.
