In Assam, the ruling BJP is all set to sweep the municipal polls. As per available reports, the BJP along with ruling partner Asom Gana Parishad have won 672 seats. Congress got 71 seats while Independent and other parties won 149 seats. Overall the BJP is likely to rule in 73 municipal boards out of 80.
