BJP today hit out at Nitish Kumar for describing the special package announced by the Centre for Bihar as bundle of lies. It said the Chief Minister is making such remarks out of frustration sensing defeat in the upcoming assembly elections. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, senior party leader and Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari rejected Mr. Kumar's claim that there is nothing new in the package and it is only the consolidation of funds of different central schemes.

He said every announcement made by the Prime Minister in the 1.25 lakh crore rupees package is true and will be implemented. Talking about the 66 thousand crore rupees allocation for road and highways construction in the package, Mr. Gadkari said his ministry has detailed project report for every project. He also dared Nitish Kumar for an open debate on the special package. Mr. Gadkari also accused the Bihar Chief Minister of failing in the development of the state.
