BJP today questioned the silence of Congress President Sonia Gandhi over senior party leader Digvijaya Singh's recent comments on 2008 Batla House encounter. Mr. Singh had termed it as fake encounter. The party asked Ms. Gandhi to tell the nation reasons why her party leader glorified the terrorists involved in the incident. <br/><br/>BJP Secretary Shrikant Sharma quoted an IS video in which one of the men claimed that he was at Batla House when police had raided the premises and fled afterwards saying it exposed the Congress on the issue. He accused the opposition party of compromising with national security in Batla and Ishrat Jahan encounter cases. <br/><br/>Earlier in the day, score of BJP workers protested outside Sonia Gandhi's residence in New Delhi over Batla House encounter case demanding her apology on the Congress leader's statements over the issue.
