BJP hits back at Sonia over Vadra's defence, Shahenshah remark

BJP today hit back at Congress President Sonia Gandhi defending son-in-law Robert Vadra saying it has exposed the farce of Congress that he is merely a private citizen. The party also took a dig at Mrs Gandhi over Shahenshah jibe against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying those who behaved and ruled like this were sent packing by voters in 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Party Secretary Shrikant Sharma mocked the Congress Chief's challenge to the government to order a probe into the accusations against Vadra and said the opposition party has dubbed such enquiries as vendetta earlier.

Media reports say Vadra had bought a benami house in London in 2009 by an arms dealer who was raided last month for financial crimes. Reacting to it , Sonia Gandhi had dared the Centre to order an impartial probe and also attacked the government over the celebrations of two years in office, describing Mr. Modi as Shahenshah.
