BJP hits back at Rahul for criticizing PM over land bill, Lalit row

BJP today came down heavily on Rahul Gandhi for criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rajasthan government over Land Acquisition Bill and Lalit Modi controversy, saying Congress Vice President's behaviour shows he is still a novice in politics.

Briefing reporters in New Delhi, party Secretary Siddharth Nath Singh alleged that Mr. Gandhi is accusing BJP governments out of desperation and without any facts. He also took a dig at Mr. Gandhi's statement that Congress will not allow acquisition of a single inch of land, alleging that acres of land was given by the then Haryana government to Robert Vadra. Mr. Singh questioned why Rahul Gandhi is talking only about issues related to Lalit Modi and BJP leaders and is silent on former IPL Commissioner's claims about Sonia Gandhi.

Mr. Singh also attacked Rahul Gandhi for his remarks that the Prime Minister's 56-inch chest will shrink to 5.6-inch , a reference to a speech made by Narendra Modi during the Lok Sabha poll campaign.
