The Karnataka Chief Minister B. S. Yeddyurappa has been summoned by the BJP High Command to Delhi to discuss the latest political situation amidst indications that he may be asked to resign in the wake of land allotment scam. While the Chief Minister has been called by the Central leadership second time in a week, Yeddyurappa has struck a defiant note saying he has the support of 120 MLAs and there is no successor to him. The Chief Minister confirmed that he is coming to Delhi for discussions. Party sources , however,said that some more ministers and MLAs are likely to come along with him. While the party high command held a meeting in New Delhi today to review the political situation in Karnataka, the Chief Minister held a close door meeting with his loyalists and supporters including some Ministers and legislators in Bangalore. Our correspondent reports that the beleaguered Chief Minister is under intense attack from opposition to resign in the land allotment case in which two plots of land were allotted to his son and daughter. Though they have surrendered their plots and the State Government has also announced judicial inquiry into the issue, the controversy refuses to die down. JDS has levelled fresh charge against Yeddyurappa's kin that they had sold land worth 20 crore rupees to a mining firm and raised doubts about its ownership. However, Yeddyurappa has rejected the allegation and claimed the opposition wanted to topple his government.
