Trends available from both Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand Assemblies indicate that BJP is heading towards making major gains in both the states.
In Jammu and Kashmir, trends from 81 of the 87 constitutuencies are available. BJP, which had 11 seats in the outgoing Assembly, is leading in 19 seats. PDP is leading in 22 constituencies, National Conference in 19, Congress is leading in 14 and others in 7 constituencies. The trends from Jammu & Kashmir indicate that no party is likely to take absolute majority in the assembly on its own.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of National Conference is leading in both Sonawar and Beerwah constituencies. PDP leader Mufti Mohammed Sayed is leading in Anantnag constituency.
Sajjad Gani Lone of JKPC is leading in Handwara Assembly seat while Dr.Krishan Lal of BJP is leading in Chhamb constituency. Sitting MLA Tara Chand of Congress is trailing in this constituency. Congress candidate is leading in Kargil.
In Jharkhand, out of 81 constituencies, trends are available for 69 constituencies, BJP is leading in 28 constituencies, Congress in 3 constituency, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in 17, Rashtriya Janta Dal in 3, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha in 8, All Jharkhand Students Union in 3 and others in 7 seat. JMM candidate and Chief Minister Hemant Soren is leading in Barhait constituency while he is trailing in Dhumka where BJP candidate Lois Marandi is ahead of him. JMM candidate Niral Purty is leading in over more than eight thousand votes in Majhganon seat. BJP candidate Chandreshwar Prasad Singh is leading in Ranchi Constituency. JVM candidate Babulal Marandi is leading in Dhanwar constituency.
