The Finance Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee hit out at the BJP saying that it does not have the moral right to talk about corruption when their own former President was caught on camera taking bribe. Speaking to reporters Mr. Mukherjee that the people should not forget what the BJP led NDA did during their rule. Without naming anyone, he said that the Tehalka sting operation had exposed the party. The former BJP President Bangaroo Laxman had been caught taking the bribe in the sting operation. He said on the other hand, the UPA government set up a committee to probe into the allegation of corruption in the Commonwealth Games related projects. He said that the then IT and Communication Minister Mr. A. Raja also resigned immediately after the CAG report on 2G spectrum was tabled in Parliament even though the charges against him are yet to be probed. Reacting to Mr. Mukherjee's comments, the BJP leader Mr. Arun Jaitley said that it was only under the opposition pressure that the UPA took these actions.
