<span style="color: #222222;">BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav has defended the National Register of Citizens, NRC exercise and said no genuine Indian citizen will be victimised. Speaking at an event in Kolkata yesterday, he said no country tolerates illegal immigrants. Mr Madhav, who is also the BJP's in-charge of the Northeast said there is no controversy in Assam over the NRC and the state is going through the process peacefully. He said the process is on and is being monitored on a daily basis by the Supreme Court.</span><br />''  <br />
