The BJP today demanded cancellation of 142 coal blocks which were allocated between 2004 and 2010. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, senior party leaders Mrs Sushma Swaraj and Mr Arun Jaitley said that these coal blocks should be allocated after competitive bidding.

They alleged that Policy of competitive bidding made in 2004 was not implemented till 2012. Mrs Swaraj said that the BJP wants Prime Minister should take moral responsibility and resign.

The leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha Mrs Swaraj said the BJP will fight on this issue alone if needed. However, she claimed that NDA allies are with them. She said that other parties like AIADMK is also with BJP on the issue.
