BJP today flayed Uttar Pradesh Minister Azam Khan for his claim that crime has come down in the state upto 33 precent during Samajwadi Party rule. <br/><br/>Citing state crime record bureau data, the party questioned his remarks and said the incidents of crime against women have increased by 161 percent during 2014- 2015. It also quoted National Crime Records Bureau data saying the UP is on the top among the states as regards crime against women. <br/><br/>Briefing reporters in New Delhi, BJP Secretary Shrikant Sharma said, over 13 thousand murders were reported in the state during March 2012 to March 2015. He accused the state government of protecting the criminal elements. <br/><br/>Hitting out at the SP government for not taking action against BSP leader Naseemuddin Siddiqui after he was accused of insulting woman kin of an expelled BJP leader, Mr. Sharma alleged there is a nexus between the SP and BSP. He also attacked UP government over police action against BJP workers who were protesting in Lucknow against deteriorating law and order situation. <br/><br/>Replying to a question, Mr. Sharma rejected reports that RSS and BJP will undertake surveys on the party's chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming assembly elections in UP.

BJP flays Azam Khan for his claim on crime
