BJP faced more adversities in independent India: PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said, the BJP has faced more adversities in independent India as compared to what Congress faced during British rule and every effort of his party was seen in bad light.<br/><br/>Laying foundation stone of new party headquarters building in New Delhi , Mr. Modi asserted that BJP has made more sacrifices than any other party and underlined its commitment to take everybody along with the motto of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas. <br/><br/>The Prime Minister asked BJP workers to present an example to the democratic world of how a party devoted to ideals and devoid of dynasty functions. <br/><br/>He said during the recent West Bengal assembly polls, it was difficult for the BJP candidates to even hire an office in Kolkata.<br/><br/>BJP President Amit Shah said the party has reached this stage due to the hard work of workers. Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Venkaiah Naidu and Nitin Gadkari and senior party leaders L K Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi among others were present during the event.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that Prime Minister and other party leaders also celebrated Raksha Bandhan with school children on the occasion. <br/><br/>The new state-of-the-art headquarters will be constructed at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg near ITO. It will have wi-fi, underground parking, conference halls, media facilities, eateries, studios, a library, reading room and other facilities.<br/><br/>The new building is expected to be ready before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
