In Rajasthan, the BJP has expelled 16 rebel candidates from the party for six years. This step has been taken against them for not withdrawing their candidature against the official candidates of the party.

The prominent leaders who have been expelled include former Assembly Speaker Sumitra Singh who is contesting election from Jhunjhunu.Another names include Manikchand Surana and Devi Shanker Bhootda.
