The Bharatiya Janata Party has established its supremacy during the Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti Elections conducted recently in Bhandara and Gondia district of Vidarbha region in Maharashtra . The party has secured the majority in Gondia winning 27 out of the total 52 seats in the district while the Nationalist Congress Party got 13, Congress bagged 10 seats along with the Shiv Sena and an independent candidate claiming one each.<br/>In case of Bhandara district, the BJP emerged as the single largest party with 25 of the total 52 seats while the Congress secured 11 seats. The NCP bagged five seats along with two each going to the Shiv Sena and Bahujan Samaj Party and the independent candidates were elected on remaining seven seats.<br/>
