Accusing the government of failing to check spiralling prices, BJP today demanded the removal of Agriculture Minister Mr Sharad Pawar from the Union Cabinet and a CBI probe into all the scams relating to wheat, paddy and sugar. In a statemant party spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad sought an explanation from the government on the issue concerning the common man. <br/><br/>The statement comes after the consumer affairs ministry in its data confirmed that the retail prices of sugar have gone up by 10 rupees a kilogram except in Delhi and Bhubaneshwar. It also says there has been a moderate downward revision in the wholesale prices in leading markets like Delhi and Mumbai after the government announced a series of measures to rein in sugar prices.
