BJP demands enquiry into G K Pillai's claim that Congress intervened in Ishrat Jahan case

BJP has demanded an enquiry into the claim of former Home Secretary G K Pillai that Congress had intervened into the investigation of Ishrat Jahan encounter case. <br/><br/>Briefing reporters in New Delhi today, party spokesperson M J Akbar said there should be a probe in the matter so that truth can come out. <br/><br/>Replying to a query over Congress party questioning the timing of Mr. Pillai's remarks, Mr. Akbar said former Home Secretary can only make comments on it. <br/><br/>Recently, Mr. Pillai had claimed that due to the political interference the reference to the Lashkar-e-Taiba terror group was deleted from an affidavit filed in the Supreme Court naming Ishrat Jahan as a terrorist in 2009. Ishrat was killed in an encounter in 2004 in Gujarat.<br/><br/>BJP has been accusing the Congress of conspiring against its leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party Chief Amit Shah.
