BJP today demanded compensation for the farmers of Aligarh and Mathura on the rate of Greater Noida whose land has been acquired for the Yamuna Expressway. Briefing media persons party spokesman Gopinath Munde said that Uttar Pradesh government should take the cause of the farmers and enhance the rate of compensation for acquired land. He said that the government should bring Land Acquisition Bill in the current session of the Parliament. The Samajwadi party today demanded the dismissal of Uttar Pradesh government in the wake of recent firing on farmers. Talking to reporters outside Parliament party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said that Centre should intervene into the matter. He also alleged that there is a corruption in the construction of the Yamuna Expressway. JD(U) Chief Sharad Yadav has condemned the firing on the farmers in Uttar Pradesh and said that fertile land should not be acquired for the construction purposes. He said that it could impact the production of the food grains in the country. He said that the government should bring a law aiming to ensure that fertile land could not be acquired.
