BJP delegation moves to ECI; demands CBI inquiry in FIR lodged by TRS MLA Rohit Reddy

A BJP delegation moved the Election Commission of India (ECI) in connection with by-elections in the Dhamnagar assembly constituency in Odisha and Munugode assembly constituency in Telangana yesterday, October 28.
''
''The four-member delegation comprising Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, BJP general secretary Arun Singh, National Spokesperson Anil Baluni, and Om Pathak has demanded the ECI to order a CBI inquiry in a matter of FIR lodged by TRS MLA Rohit Reddy.
''
''In the FIR, Mr. Reddy has alleged that BJP tried to lure him to join the party. BJP delegation termed this complaint ill-intentioned saying that it is yet another attempt of TRS to undermine the bye-elections in Munugode seat which is scheduled to be held on the 3rd of November.
''
''The delegation also accused Odisha's ruling Biju Janata Dal of releasing a fake and doctored audio clip by the functionaries of BJD about the alleged meeting between the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and one independent candidate of the Dhamnagar assembly constituency.
''
''The delegation termed this a sinister attempt to malign the personal image of Mr. Shah. The delegation has requested the ECI to order filing an immediate FIR against the BJD functionaries.
