BJP delegation meets HM over Manipur situation

A BJP delegation led by Prakash Javadekar today met the Home Minister P. Chidambram and apprised him of the grim situation in Manipur following the impasse over the planned visit of NSCN(IM) leader T. Muivah to the state. They also demanded that the permission granted to Muivah for the visit be immediately withdrawn. <br/><br/>Mr. Javadekar who led the three member team to Manipur to take stock of the situation returned to the Capital today. <br/><br/>Speaking to media, Mr. Javadekar blamed the Centre for the current situation saying that it should have declared that there will be no compromise with the territorial integrity of Manipur before it gave permission to Muivah to visit his birthplace.<br/><br/>Highlighting the problems being faced by the people because of the blockade on the two national highways, Mr.Javadekar said that the prices of essential commodities have sky-rocketed and there is a shortage of life-saving medicines in the hospitals.
