A BJP delegation led by party leader L K Advani today met Chief Election Commissioner, V S Sampath in New Delhi. They lodged their protest against the Centre's announcement of direct cash transfer scheme ahead of Gujarat elections and demanded its withdrawal. Talking to reporters after the meeting, Mr. Advani said that the Commission has assured the delegation that all the issues raised will be taken care of before taking a proper decision in this regard.

AIR Correspondent reports, the delegation handed over a memorandum to the CEC for taking an appropriate decision so that the Centre's announcement does not influence the voting in Gujarat. The leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj and party leader in the Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley were also the part of delegation.
