BJP today criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for the favourtism extended to the firm which is facing probe into flyover collapse in Kolkata. The party claimed that Railway Ministry under her stewardship had awarded a contract to the same firm in 2011. <br/><br/>Talking to reporters in New Delhi, party spokesperson Sambit Patra cited Ms. Banerjee's remarks blaming the Left Front government for awarding the flyover contract to the firm and questioned her how the same company got railway contract in 2011. He said, the contract of over 761 crore rupees for building a tunnel connecting Kashmir and Jammu regions was given by Ms. Banerjee before she quit as a Rail Minister to become the Chief Minister. <br/><br/>Raking up a TV sting operation conducted against Kolkata Mayor and TMC leader, he said, the Mayor claimed that construction material for such projects are sourced from a syndicate of party leaders and supporters. He alleged that this nexus led to the collapse of the flyover.
