BJP criticizes Delhi govt's education model, says several schools closed in last eight years

The BJP today questioned the education model of the Delhi Government, saying that several schools have been closed in the last eight years in the National Capital. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said, the Delhi government had promised to open 500 schools and 20 colleges in its election manifesto, but 31 schools have been closed in the last eight years. <br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">He alleged that out of over one thousand schools, science and commerce streams are not available for students in 700 schools. He also alleged that in 745 schools, there is no Principal. Mr. Poonawalla claimed that the Delhi government has not filled up 40 thousand seats allocated for children from economically and weaker sections of the society.</span><br />''<br />
