The BJP today demanded an all party meeting to discuss the ordinance on fixing sugarcane prices. Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Mrs Sushma Swaraj said that the party will raise the issue in both Houses tomorrow as well.<br/>Advocating the case for State Advisory Prices, Mrs Swaraj said that it is a system approved by Supreme Court and the ordinance will adversely affect the sugar cane growers. Mrs Swaraj said that the party will press for suspension of question hour in Rajya Sabha and bring adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha tomorrow on the issue.<br/>Ms Swaraj said Price Rise, alleged corruption case against former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda, Indo-China border issue, spectrum scam and condition of Sri Lankan Tamils are some of the issues to be taken up by the party in the ongoing session. She added that the party will demand to send a team of Parliamentarians to asses the plight of Sri Lankan Tamils.<br/>Meanwhile, the CPIM has demanded immediate withdrawal of the ordinance promulgated by the government on sugarcane pricing.<br/>Talking reporters in New Delhi today, senior party leader, Mr Basudeb Achariya said the Statutory Minimum Price (SMP) fixed by the Centre is neither fair nor remunerative to the sugarcane growers. Mr Achariya called for an all-party meeting to discuss the issue.<br/>His party colleague, Mr Sitaram Yechury demanded a constitutional amendment to ensure a minimum of 100 sittings of the Parliament session in a calendar year. Mr Yechury also said that his party demanded a thorough discussion on Climate Change issue before the government goes for negotiations at the Copenhagen Summit scheduled to be held next month. He said CPIM will demand discussion on issues like price rise of essential commodities, corruption, internal security particularly the naxal violence and telecom scam.<br/>Government has decided to call a meeting of all political parties on Monday morning to discuss sugarcane and other pressing issues so as to facilitate the smooth functioning of the Parliament.<br/>The Business Advisory Committee of the Rajya Sabha has decided 11 subjects including sugarcane, price rise and disinvestment for discussion in the first seven sittings of the current session.<br/>The Rajya Sabha Chairman Mohd. Hamid Ansari today called a meeting of the committee after the Lok Sabha was plunged into pandemonium on the sugarcane pricing policy.<br/>
