The Core Group of BJP met at the residence of senior leader L K Advani in the wake of demands by the opposition parties in the state for the chief minister's resignation alleging nepotism and various scandals during the BJP rule. They also discussed the future strategy for the ongoing session of Parliament in the wake of stalemate on a JPC probe in corruption cases including 2G scam. Those attended include BJP President Nitin Gadkare, leaders of the opposition in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley, Murli Manohar Joshi, Venkaiya Naidu and Rajnath Singh.Party sources said that the political situation in Karnataka figured prominently in the meeting as the Yeddyurappa government is facing a serious crisis following charges of nepotism in land allotment cases.Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has been called by the party leadership to New Delhi for a discussion. This comes in the wake heat faced by the party after Yeddyurappa came under attack for allegedly favouring his sons in land allotments.According to party sources, the Chief Minister will reach New Delhi tonight.
