The Congress has alleged that the BJP is misleading the country and obstructing judicial process by blocking trial of accused in Ishrat Jehan fake encounter case pending in a court at Ahemdabad. <br/><br/>Party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala claimed that the case has no connection to the then Congress government in any manner. He wanted to know why the BJP is protecting the accused officers despite pendency of trial. <br/><br/>Mr. Surjewala also accused the BJP of diverting attention from the massive scam in Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation and what he called paralysis of governance and failure to tackle unemployment and rural distress in the country.

BJP today continued to target Congress over the Ishrat Jahan case. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra hit out at the then Home Minister P Chidambaram alleging that he played with the national security for political gains. <br/><br/>He alleged that Congress is still trying to make Ishrat Jahan a martyr, which is not in the interest of the country. Mr Patra also questioned congress how the content of the second affidavit was changed in just 45 days after filing of the first affidavit. He said, the nation wants to know that who is behind the conspiracy.
