BJP today condemned the government for not hoisting the National Flag at Lal Chowk in Srinagar on the Republic Day. Briefing media persons in New Delhi today, party spokesman, Mr. Prakash Javdekar said, such an act will encourage the separatist elements in the valley. <br/><br/>He said, for the last 19 yeras the Tricolour was being hoised by BSF and CRPF on Republic Day at Lal Chowk. He said, it will demoralise the security forces. Mr. Javdekar said that Kashmiri people participated in large numbers in the flag hoisting ceremony last year at Lal Chowk and the government should have encouraged such participation this year as well.
