BJP complains to EC against PM's communication advisor

The BJP has complained to the Election Commission against Prime Minister's communication advisor Pankaj Pachauri for highlighting the achievements made under the leadership of Dr. Manmohan Singh. A delegation led by party
General Secretary JP Nadda submitted a memorandum to the Commission saying that Mr Pachauri being a government official has violated the Model Code of Conduct by addressing a press conference to publicise the achievements of UPA government during elections. Press Club of India has conveyed to the Chief Election Commissioner that Mr Pachauri had addressed a “Meet-the-Press” programme convened by the Club and did not hold a press conference.

The BJP has also urged the Commission to ask the government to stop making key appointments during the polls including the appointment of a new army chief and teachers in Kendriya Vidayalayas across the country.
