Bharatiya Janata Party came down heavily on the West Bengal Government alleging that voices of women who are raising voice against atrocities are suppressed. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi on Friday, BJP Spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi cited the recent Sandeshkhali incident of atrocities against women. He criticized the Trinamool Congress for acting against people who are trying to visit Sandeshkhali and for allegedly threatening them. Mr. Trivedi alleged that the Special investigation committee is trying to silence the voices of the women. Expressing concern over the alleged turmoil in West Bengal, the party spokesperson said that the multidimensional criminalisation of politics and its subsequent political patronage and protection is unprecedented in Indian history. He alleged that there is no democracy in Bengal. Mr. Trivedi questioned the silence of the opposition parties on the Sandeshkhali incident. He said that citizens will give a befitting reply to the ones who are responsible for perpetuating barbarity.
