BJP today called for a new mechanism of Consumer Price Index. Talking to reporters in New delhi, Party Spokesperson Prakash Javedkar said that the Whole Sale Price Index is not the real reflector of inflation and food prices. He said that a new improved indicator which reflects prices paid by consumers in the market should be introduced. Mr Javedkar said that inflation is still a major issue and the marginal decline in inflaton for the month of January does not reflect the true picture.Mr. Javedakr also announced that the top BJP brass will be meeting in Kolkata tomorrow to chalk out the strategy for the upcoming Budget session of Parliament. He said that during the one day conference the party will also plan for a nationwide campaign against the Government on the issue corruption, inflation and black money stashed in foreign banks. He also reiterated his party's demand for a JPC probe into the 2G spectrum scam.
