BJP, BSP hand-in-glove in spreading riots in Bareilly, says Congress

The Congress today accused the BJP and the BSP of being hand-in-glove in spreading riots in Bareilly and attempting to create religious polarisation.

The Congress has also demanded inquiry into the Bareilly incidents by a sitting judge of the Allahabad High Court.

The party spokesman, Manish Tiwari alleged that the BJP has taught communal politics to BSP and coordination between the two parties which started in the Lok Sabha elections is now coming in full play.

He also alleged that when Bareilly was burning, celebrations were going on in Lucknow. He said without the hand of the administration no riots can last for so long as in Bareilly.

He said, Gujarat riots are an example in this regard. He also said that while the state government did not have money to pay the farmers affected by the drought, it spent more than 500 crore rupees on the installation of Mayawati's statues in the state.

He said that the display of currency notes in the form of a garland around Mayawati only goes to show the kind of message they want to send to the people.
