In Uttar Pradesh the Bharatiya Janata Party today observed State wide Bandh protesting against the police lathi Charge on party workers at Lucknow on 25th of last month during its demonstration.<br/><br/>AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that BJP call has received mixed response. In several districts including state capital Lucknow ,Varanasi, Kanpur , Gorakhpur, Ballia, Meerut, Agra, Bareilly and Moradabad party workers taken out procession in main markets appealing people to keep close their shops and commercial establishments. <br/><br/>In Gorakhpur district party MP Yogi Aditya Nath and MLA Dr. Radha Mohan Das Agrawal moved on the roads and streets in favour of party call. Although due to Holi celebration in most of the town commercial establishments and school colleges were already closed.<br/> <br/>Adequate security arrangements are in place to maintain law and order. State unit of BJP has deputed its senior leaders at different district for mobilisation of common men against the alleged undemocratic attitude of state government towards its political opponents.<br/><br/>President of Uttar Pradesh BJP Dr. Ramapati Ram Tripathi has claimed Bund most Successful. In a statement issued at Lucknow he has said that in some districts including Gonda, Sultanpur, Rampur, Basti, Ballia and Moradabad civil and police administration harassed the party workers. <br/><br/>He has alleged that state government was trying to crush agitations initiated by the Party. He has said that it was a Bund against authoritarian behavior of state government.<br/><br/>Police had used force against party leaders and workers on 25th of last month when they were tried to proceed towards Vidhan Bhawan. <br/><br/>Party had held demonstration against price rise on that day. It was alleged that several senior party leaders including former national president MP Raj Nath Singh, Mukhtar Abbas Naquvi and Dr. Ramapati Ram Tripathi were also injured in the police lathi charge.<br/>
