The BJP has backed party Chief Nitin Gadkari, after a section of party leaders demanded his resignation on corruption charges. The BJP backed Gadkari, saying he has done no legal or moral wrong.
Reading out a statement by senior party leaders, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitely after a meeting of its core group in New Delhi on Tuesday night, party spokesperson, Ravi Shankar Prasad said, the party has full faith in the leadership of Mr. Gadkari. He said, the party has also endorsed Gadkari's stand about his readiness and willingness to face a probe.
The meeting was held in the backdrop of allegations of financial impropriety against Gadkari in the running of his Purti Group.
