BJP appoints observers for Jharkhand, J&K to elect legislature party leader

BJP General Secretary JP Nadda and Vinay Sahstrabuddhe will be the party observers to oversee the election of leader of legislature party in Jharkhand. Senior Party leader Arun Jaitley and party secretary Arun Singh have been appointed as observer for Jammu and Kashmir. Announcing the decision of BJP's Parliamentary Board, Union Minister JP Nadda told reporters that the board has expressed satisfaction over the poll results in the two states, saying that it is people's approval for the agenda of good governance. The board meeting was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah and Union Ministers Arun Jaitley, Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, M Venkaiah Naidu, among others.

AIR correspondent reports that a party function scheduled to be organised at the party headquarters to felicitate the Prime Minister for resounding victory in both the states was cancelled due to killing of innocent people in Assam by militants.

Meanwhile, the party has accelerated the process for formation of new government in Jharkahnd. Both the observers of party Union Minister JP Nadda and National Vice President of the party Vinay Sahsrabuddhe will be reaching tomorrow at Ranchi. Dr. Sahsrabuddhe has said that they will consult newly elected members to the Assembly for unanimous selection of leader of legislative party. Most of the senior leaders of the party in the state have reached at Ranchi.

Senior Sarayu Rai told has said that that there is no dispute within the party over issue of tribal or non tribal Chief Minister. He said with the consent of central leadership new Chief Minister will be chosen. Date of Meeting of newly elected MLAs has yet not been decided. BJP AJSU alliance has got clear mandate of formation of new government winning 42 seats in 81 members Assembly. BJP has won 37.

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has called a meeting of its newly elected members on December 26 at Ranchi. After resigning from the post of the Chief Minister, Hemant Soren has said that his party will discharge responsibilities of a responsible opposition. Winning 19 seats JMM has emerged as second largest party. The Chief Electoral Officer of the State PK Jajoria will hand over the list of newly elected member to the State Governor tomorrow. New government will be formed before January 3 next year.
