BJP and Left leaders continue their demand for JPC

Political parties continue to react on the demand for a JPC. While the opposition BJP and the Left leaders today reiterated their stand and rationale behind the demand of JPC, the ruling Congress slammed the opposition for stalling Parliament for a week now. CPIM leader Sitaram Yechury supporting the demand of JPC said that Public Accounts Committee can not suggest measures to improve the system as was done by the JPC in Harshad Mehta share market scam.Echoing similar sentiments, the BJP leader Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad said that Prime Minister should break his silence on the issue as Mr. A. Raja has been claiming that he has been informing the Prime Minister's office regularly on the issue.Strongly criticizing the approach, the Congress spokesperson Jayanti Natarajan charged the opposition of preventing Parliament to function. She described it undemocratic and unparliamentarily as the Telecom Minister A. Raja has already resigned.
