BJP accuses Himachal CM of corruption; Virbhadra rejects allegations

BJP today mounted attack on Congress over corruption charges and accused Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh of accepting bribe from a private firm to buy a farm house at Mehrauli in Delhi. <br/><br/>Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad sought the response from Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi in this regard as well as corruption charges against Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat. <br/><br/>Mr. Prasad alleged that Mr. Singh accepted bribe from a hydelpower firm for reviving its cancelled project and the money was routed through a convoluted process to a company owned by his family to buy a farm house worth over Rs 6 crore.<br/> <br/>Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi for attacking Prime Minister over Lalit Modi controversy and Vyapam scam, Mr. Prasad questioned why Congress Vice President was silent during UPA rule when various scams happened. The Minister said BJP would continue to reveal cases of corruption against the Opposition party leaders.<br/><br/>Refuting the charges, Himachal Chief Minister said BJP is raising old and unsubstantiated charges against him. In a tweet, he accused the Centre of political witch-hunt.
