BJP accuses Congress of spreading misinformation about NDA's Land Bill

BJP today accused Congress of making U- turn on Land Acquisition Bill pushed by the current NDA government. Addressing a press conference, Union Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh said that Congress ruled State Chief Ministers had favoured bringing changes in the UPA's Land Acquisition Act,2013 as under it, the acquisition process is very difficult and lengthy. He charged the Congress with resorting to misinformation campaign in the name of rights of farmers. Mr Singh said, the Centre has ordered bringing all those thirteen Acts under the purview of Land Law which were exempted from the UPA legislation. He also said that government is ready to accept any suggestion which will be in the interest of farming community.<br/><br/>Another Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman who was also present at the press conference accused the Congress of spreading misinformation against the NDA's Land Bill. She also questioned the Congress about the surplus land acquired in the name of SEZs. Ms Sitharaman also alleged that it was the Congress which had surrendered the rights of farmers in Bali conference and NDA government restored it.
