In Orissa, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has decided to contest all the three Rajya Sabha seats falling vacant. This was announced by BJD President and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Bhubaneswar yesterday. He said his party will field senior BJD leader and Rajya Sabha member Pyari Mohan Mohapatra. He, however, said name of other two candidates will be declared only after consultation with party leaders. BJD has 103 members in the 147-member Orissa Legislative Assembly. The Congress has 26 and BJP has only six, while the rest of the seats belong to smaller parties like NCP, CPI, CPM and independents. <br/>Besides, Mr Mohapatra, Bhujabal Majhi of BJP and Radhakanta Nayak of Congress are retiring on July 1 from the Rajya Sabha after completing their six-year tenure.<br/> <br/> <br/>
